Supported Tokens
Overview
Levain strives to support the tokens you need as quickly as possible. In general, these are the following tokens supported by Levain:
- EVM-compatible blockchains: native token and ERC-20 (with ERC-721 and ERC-1155 coming soon)
- Tron: native token and TRC-20 (i.e. no TRC-10 support)
- Bitcoin: native token only (i.e. no BRC-20 support)
For now, if you need to add a new token on a specific blockchain network, please contact the Levain Product Team. Any token can be supported on EVM chains so long as you have the token contract address. If you require a token that is not supported by Levain, please reach out to the Levain Product Team.
We will be introducing the ability for you to add your own tokens in the near future.
About the CAIP-19 standard
Levain uses the CAIP-19 standard to identify tokens when you use the Levain API. Whenever you need to specify a token in your queries, you'll use the CAIP-19 format, ensuring consistent and standardized identification across different chains.
caip19:<chainId>/<assetNamespace>:<assetReference>
This is an example of a CAIP-19 identifier for the DAI token on Ethereum Mainnet:

When broken down, it follows the following structure:
caip19- the CAIP-19 identifier<chainId>- the CAIP-2 identifier (i.e. namespace and chain ID) where the namespace is usually the most common standard for the chain, followed by the chain ID, for exampleeip155:1refers to Ethereum Mainnet using the EIP-155 namespace<assetNamespace>- the type of asset, for exampleslip44for native tokens,erc20for ERC-20 tokens,trc20for TRC-20 tokens, etc.<assetReference>- the reference of the asset, for example the coin ID forslip44tokens, the contract address forerc20tokens, etc. and this is case insensitive

Testnet faucets for native tokens
For testnet networks, you can use the following faucets to request for some testnet crypto assets to be sent to:
- your Gas Tank address
- your Levain Wallet address
- your own wallet address outside of Levain, and then send in the tokens to your Gas Tank, Levain Wallet or Deposit Addresses
They are by no means an exhaustive list, and you can find more faucets by searching online, e.g. "Ethereum Sepolia faucet", "Bitcoin testnet faucet", or "Tron Shasta faucet".
Note that the links below provide you with native tokens, which are not the same as ERC-20 or TRC-20 tokens. Native tokens are usually meant to pay for gas fees on the respective blockchain networks.
